Sarah Cole
MS, OTR/L
Sarah Cole was inspired to become an Occupational Therapist while working at a child development center at 16, where she had lunch in her mother’s OT room daily. She continues to be inspired by seeing children and families enjoy the life they desire despite the challenges of having different abilities to consider. She graduated with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from The University of Southern Maine— her home state—in 2008. Her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Special Education were the perfect setting to explore her interest in supporting children with autism at a time when new research on the topic was booming. Sarah has worked exclusively in the pediatric setting since receiving her OT degree, supporting children and their families in clinical hospitals settings, clinics, schools, though most prominently in home-based early-intervention settings. She feels the home is the ideal place for such a personal routine and value-based approach as occupational therapy provides. She completed an advanced post-graduate fellowship for training leaders and advocates in the field of supporting children with neurodevelopmental challenges. In addition to OT, Sarah is a registered yoga teacher and has clinical training in providing Cranio-Sacral therapy for children with involved neuro-muscular conditions. In her free-time, she is a part-time bluegrass musician playing events with her husband all around Colorado. More of her most favorite occupations include walking her pup Luna, playing tennis, roller skating, making jewelry and collecting vintage clothes and housewares to sell at local markets!
